Visiting Bahá’í Communities
SERIAN:- From 17 till 27 November, Auxiliary Board Member Mr. Bunsie Tunton made a ten-day trip to the northern region by driving the family van all the way to Rh. Ansok, Sg. Kelabit in the Bakong area. He was accompanied by wife Bari and their three children. For Bari it was more like a happy reunion after a long separation. In her report about the trip, Bari wrote that their visit coincided with the Reflection Meetings organised by the Area Teaching Committees. At Rh. Ansok, representatives from ten communities in the Bakong-Tinjar Cluster attended the reflection meeting held on 19 Nov. The friends studied the 26 Nov 2001 document from the International Teaching Centre and the 2002 Ridvan Message. The next day, the family proceeded to Niah where they attended a reflection meeting held at Rh. Tambi, Sg. Libai. About 80 people attended, including those from Rh. Ngadan, Rh. Mat and Rh Anjat. The friends pledged to move on to attend the courses that they have not covered.
In Miri a meeting with the Iban believers was held at the Bahá’í Centre. There were 13 adults. Pledges were made and tutors were identified to conduct Book 1 till Book 6 in Iban. The friends here were enthusiastic and eager to achieve their targets until the next reflection meeting. On the evening of 25 November, the family attended the observation of the Day of the Covenant with the Bintulu community. After a talk on the Covenant by Mr. Dorai, Mr. Bunsie spoke and reminded the friends about the 26 November document and the Ridvan Message. The next morning the family proceeded to Sibu and took a brief stop-over at Rh. Penguang, Selangau in order to meet the participants of Book 2 which was in progress at the time with Norini as tutor. Other believers who were not attending the course also attended the gathering. Mr. Bunsie briefly spoke on the importance of the three core activities and touched on the 26 November document and the Ridvan Message.
In Sibu, a gathering with a small number of believers was held at the Bahá’í Centre. Here again Mr. Bunsie stressed on the importance of the institute process.
