School Holiday Institute Campaigns

16 July 2008 No Comment

We are very pleased to share with you that according to reports received by SBI in October, 47 groups had completed their study circles and 148 friends had graduated from Book 1 to Book 7. We are also happy to note that many clusters are focused to move their participants up the sequence of courses. This is one way to ensure human resources for our own communities.

Campaign for the school holidays are on. Many cluster B clusters are having campaigns. Sebuyau Cluster is having intensive courses from 11 November, moving a group of Book 4 to Book 7 and another group of 10 Book 6 graduates to Book 7. In about 2 weeks’ time, this cluster will have about 20 Book 7 graduates and they will become trained local resources for the lower books. In Bau-Lundu Cluster, there are 20 youths who have finished Book 1 and are now studying Book 2. The plan is to move them up to Book 4 and train them to become tutors. Serian -Bukar Sadong cluster also has similar plan to move fresh participants up to Bk4 and be trained to become tutors. Central Region has just finished an intensive course for 3 groups of youth where 17 participants graduated in Bk1, Bk2 and Bk3. In order to the improve the skill of tutoring, there will be Tutor Refresher Courses for Book 3 to Book 7 throughout the state. Our dear Auxiliary Board Members, National Assembly, Regional & Cluster institute Coordinators, RTCs, ATCs NBYC, LSAs and tutors throughout the state are striving hard to encourage the friends, coordinate with different institutions in order to take as many friends as possible up the sequence of courses during this school holidays. We are beginning to see the beauty of different institutions and individuals working for the same common goal. Finally, we urge the dear parents to join us in encouraging your children (15 or above) to attend some courses during the holidays. For more information, please call SBI 082-245834.
