Religious Leaders received Message from the House

16 July 2008 No Comment

On 31 December 2002, representatives of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Sibu, Mr. Lim Chung Tee and Mr. Thomas Ting paid a courtesy call to the Chairman of the Buddhist Association in Sibu to present the Message of the Universal House of Justice to the leaders of religions in the world. On the following day, Mdm. Alice Go, Mr. Thomas Ting and Mr. Lim Chung Tee also called on the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church of Sibu for the same purpose.

It was heartening to note that the two leaders of religions were very much touched and impressed by our pure and sincere intention in presenting the special message of our Supreme Body to them and they frankly told us that they did not now much about the Bahá’í Faith other than having heard the word “Bahá’í” once or twice before. We had quite a lengthy discussion, indeed a very friendly and heart to heart talk with the RC bishop, especially sharing with him some of the Bahá’í teachings and view-point on peace. He asked quite a number of questions about the Bahá’í Faith. The Chairman of the Buddhist Association even told us that he would display the message at the notice board of their association’s premise for the other members to read.
Besides presenting the message, we also handed them a few booklets or pamphlets for their reference.
