National Day Prayer And Flying The Jalur Gemilang

As you are all aware, the Ministry of Information has set up a sub-committee to organise religious programmes during the month-long (17.8 - 17.9.2004) Merdeka Month Celebration. Baha’is Faith is represented in the committee.
Our external Affair Deparment has decided that the friends, both town and rural community throughout the State of Sarawak are encouraged to hold a special prayer gathering “seeking divine protection for the nation and its people from upheavals and untoward incidents” on Saturday, 28 August 2004, between 8.00 - 9.00 p.m. You are encouraged to invite non-Baha’i friends to participate.
The friends should also fly the Malaysian flag and the State flag at their respective Baha’i centres from 17 August till 17 September 2004.
The Faith teaches us to be loyal to the government of the day. So it is our hope that all the friends will support this campaign.
