The religious delegation during the visit
Today, an interfaith delegation comprising of members of the Muslim Faith, the Anglican church and Roman Catholic church, the Kuching Buddhist Association, the Hindu Temple Association and Sri Mahamariamman Temple, the Sikh Temple Association and the Bahá’í Faith paid a courtesy call on His Excellency, the Governor of Sarawak.

This was the first time that such a delegation had made such a call and it was also the first time that the President of Majlis Islam, Datuk Putit Matzen joined such a delegation.

As agreed in advance, Datuk Made Katib, Bishop of the Anglican church was our spokesman and he had prepared a nice statement.

The Governor received us very cordially and was introduced to each one of us. Most members of the delegation were known to him. We spent a pleasant time and discussed many things pertaining to interfaith harmony and collaboration at all levels, grassroots and urban areas.

All members of the delegation informed me that they were very happy with the outcome and thanked me for having arranged it. A group photograph with the Governor was taken before departure. I hope that such interfaith collaboration will continue.
