Institute Courses in the southern region

SEBUYAU-SEBANGAN CLUSTER:- Kg. Sg. Pedada, Meludam:- Commencing 11 December a total of 23 believers from the host community and Kg. Sg. Meranti attended the institute campaign. 2 persons attended Book 1 with Sulang as tutor, two groups of Book 2, 6 participants with Mr. Ragai and 5 with Ms. Jamory. 10 persons attended the evening-only session study circle on Book 1 with Mr. Terrence Tinggi.

On the evening of their arrival, the tutors were warmly welcomed by the community. Terrence wrote, “At Meludam, Mr. Jenang waited for our arrival and brought us by boat to his longhouse at Sungai Pedada. That night we gathered at their newly renovated Bahá’í Centre with about 40 believers including those from Kg. Sg. Meranti. The chairman of the Local Assembly, Mr. Alan expressed their happiness and gratitude that Bahá’ís from other community came to visit them. I spoke on the importance of the institute process and encouraged as many believers as possible to attend. Those intending to attend the course were identified. The gathering closed with an inspiring talk by Mr. Ragai who touched on Bahá’í Life and the Life of Bahá’u’lláh.

To mark the completion of the course a gathering with the community was held at Kg. Meranti, at the request of the participants from the village. This event also gave us an opportunity to visit this 8-family Bahá’í community. That evening 37 believers gathered to witness a demonstration on teaching the Faith by the participants of the institute course. Once again Ragai inspired the friends with advice on how to live the Bahá’í life by abstaining from alcoholic drinks, attending institute courses, giving to the Fund and say their prayers.”

GEDONG-BALAI RINGIN CLUSTER:- institute process is picking up slowly. Kg. Lebor and Kg. Telagus had 6 and 3 participants respectively for Book 1 conducted by Mr. Ijau Melintang.

BAU-LUNDU CLUSTER:- Kg. Kangka, a small Iban speaking community is slowly picking up. Most of the participants of Book 1 had gone through the book at least twice. Now they are asking for Book 2.

SERIAN-BUKAR SADONG CLUSTER:- apart from Kg. Mujat, most communities are taking it easy. In the latest course held in Kg. Mayang Tea, 2 participants took Book 4 with Ronnie Tandak.
