Chin’s Trip to China
My trip was arranged by friends in Macau with the main purpose to facilitate institute study cycles for Book 6 and Book 7. On arrival at Guangzhou, I tried to call Ai Takaki a Japanese lady from the airport. But she was not back from picking her children from school. So I took the bus 6 (actually I should take bus 2) to Ai’s house. Luckily I met two local girls they accompany me to Ai’s place by taxi.
From airport on the way to Ai’s house, I entered a city of many sky tall building, hotel with very big garden, big shopping mall with very big compound, alot of people sitting there for taking rest. There were people and vehicle everywhere. City life is very busy. The building are tall, places are big, road also wide with 4-8 lane. Only most of the local people are short. So I didn’t feel so short there!
There are a lot of factories in Guangzhou, The industry pollution was very bad. I hardly see the blue sky like we have in Kuching. It was very lucky that I stayed with Ai and Sharharan family. They have three boys, aged 11, 6 and 2 years. At first I thought that within two or three months time, when they finished their Book 7, then I will come back home. I went to Hong Kong, Macau, Clifford, Zhuhai, Shanghai, and Guangzhou to facilitate different Ruhi courses and met friends and Vera’s relative in Shentou and Chaozhou. Most of the time I was stationed in Guangzhou.
Because of this trip I also have the opportunity to see Jong Kui Fong in Hong Kong and finished with her Book 6, and Vera Kho in Zhuhai, every time I renew my visa in Macau I went to stay with her for few days. While I was in Guangzhou, Ai started to contact friends, then she tried to arrange those who wanted to study. So I have different group from book 1 to book 7 every week. Different group chose different schedule but as long as they wanted to study I tried to suit their time.
From second week onward, I started to facilitate Book 6 with five friends. Our lesson was from Friday night and Saturday the whole day, usually until 11pm. During weekdays, I also facilitated Book1 to Book 4 simultaneously. So my life there was quite busy in the sense, but very fruitful. In May holiday, I had the opportunity to go to Shanghai to facilitate Book 7 with three friends. They were also full of spirit.
In Guangzhou, most of the contacts were friends of foreign Bahá’ís, so they usually are university student degree holder and even Ph. D. Before I came back to Kuching, I had the opportunity to stay with another family. During that time 5 new believers attended book 1. Four of them completed the whole book.
