Baha’is paid a courtesy call on Commissioner of Police Sarawak

A delegation comprising members of the highest administrative body of the Baha’is of Sarawak and its public affairs arm, the Baha’i Community of Sarawak (BCS), paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Talib bin Jamal, the Commissioner of Police for Sarawak, on 14 August 2005.

Members of the delegation representing the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Sarawak were Mr. Yong Kiong Choon, Mr. Chin Chia Chau and Mrs Maria Peter, and those representing BCS were Dr. John Fozdar, Dr. Shehab Phung and Mr. Michael Kho.

The delegation was warmly received by Dato’ Talib in his office at the Contingent Police Headquarters in Kuching, Sarawak.

During the visit, which lasted about an hour, the Commissioner was familiarised with the beliefs and activities of the Sarawak Baha’i community, which comprises of members widely scattered throughout the whole of Sarawak.

The courtesy call ended with a group photograph and the giving of a sourvenir by Dato’ Talib to the delegation leader, Dr. John Fozdar.
